NATPU - "New Life Agency For Tribal People Upliftment". Non-profit charity organization

NATPU is registered Under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act,1975 as a non profit society (No.TN 107/1991). It is also registered under FCRA (Foreign Contributions Regulation Act) to receive overseas funding (No.07595980200).Annual Returns for Forgein Contributions are Submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of INDIA, New Delhi along with Accounts duly audited by qualified Chartered Accountants.
NATPU is a non political non profit organization set up in 1991 to assist the tribal peoples in the Jawadhu Hills near Vellore in Tamil Nadu, South India, irrespective of caste or religion; it tries to help them by offering more opportunities for education and training. The tribal peoples are very poor and live in remote areas with little access to education or health facilities. Child labour and delinquency are common, and women in particular have very hard lives.

From the year 1991 to the year 1998 September all our projects like the 1. hostels for both tribal boys and girls, 2.Elementry School for Day scholars at Thathanguppam village of Jawadhu hills,Kanamalai panchayat of Jamunamarathur block 3.Free mobile medical camps and 4.Vocational Training programmes was all maintained and run only with the Donations which we received from our local Indian friends and well wishers. Once the famous Tamil Daily Newspaper encouraged and patted our shoulders for all the good work we are doing for the welfare of Tribal people.

NATPU started receiving financial funds from the Govt of India, Ministry of Tribal affairs from the year 1998 October to 2019 March. Initially the funds was released for 70 hostel students and with in 6 months the funds was released for 100 students and later on for 150 Students.Meanwhile in the year 2010 we shifted all our projects from Vellore town to the Amirthi forest village . For the last 3 academic year, funds was released for 150 tribal students of our Tribal residential middle school when we had total strength of 177 tribal students.

From 2001 to 2012 we received FCRA Grant to run the school in Amirthi forest village of jawadhu hills for Day Scholars and also to organise vocational training courses and free General mobile medical camps in jawadhu hills, nayakaneri hiils and pudurnadu hills.

At present we are not receiving any funds from any agencies or from the government.Very few individuals are continuing their support and due to covid even that is getting affected.
